Alin Radu

Alin Radu was born in Ramnicu Valcea, Romania, in the hills overlooking the Carpathian Mountains. He then went on to study Environmental Engineering BSc. in Bucharest, a city that he still loves. After gathering some work experience, in 2013 he decided to study further and chose to do a M.Sc. Tropical Hydrogeology in Darmstadt, Germany. In 2017 life brought him to his favorite city in the whole world, Berlin, living right at the border between Neukölln and Kreuzberg.

In Berlin he joined Diaspora Civica Berlin, a Romanian organization that was also formed in 2017. A team of likeminded people are doing projects for the Romanian community in Berlin: a map of Romanian speaking services, concerts, exhibitions, art and educational projects, info campaigns.

Professionally, Alin is now helping improve Berlin’s traffic by improving biking infrastructure.

So all in all, a dad, a passionate urban planning nerd, volunteer, and activist who loves Berlin and together with Ausländer* Rein would like to improve the quality of life for migrants, kids, and everyone in Neukölln.

We all have much more in common than we think!
