Jan Świerzawski
Jan wants to bring more than one language into public administration, starting at district level. The languages we use are supposed to connect us and make our lives easier. In a place with over 160 spoken languages, limiting public life to only the dominant one does not help.
Jan has been a member of Razem since 2017, first in Poland and then in Berlin, where he has lived since 2019. He is one of the initiators of Ausländer* Rein!, and he builds and runs the technical infrastructure of the campaign.
Professionally Jan works in IT management and consulting. He has spent fifteen years operating and managing services for enterprises and consulting for public sector organisations.
Born in Silesia in 1985, Jan moved to Neukölln shortly before Covid. He is one of the roughly one million people in this city who pay taxes here, study and work here and build their lives here, and cannot vote for the parliament that governs them.
